Mali and Ghana use to controlled trade across the Sahara,but now Songhai controls the trade across the Sahara.It's trade was lager than Mali in the 1500's.
Some Africans Didn't have a government.Some were nomadic hunters and some sculpted mask and statues. 10 to 12 million Africans were force into slavery,but some were died before they could ever arrive because they didn't have any food to eat so they died of starvation from 1520 to 1860. They couldn't bring slaves from Africa until the united States ,United Kingdom, and Denmark made it legal. The Africans chose strong,young, wealthy, men from the age of 18 to 30. The European didn't lose interest in Africa . Each Europeans wanted the part of Africa that was the biggest or the richest and they all had to meet in Berlin in 1884.They discussed how they was going to discuss Africa. The Tutsi ruled the Hutu and they didn't like it so they went into the war.They are still fighting over ten cows because Hutu was jealous.
Most of the colonies in Africa south of the Sahara gained Independence between 1951&1980.The path was smooth in some countries.In Africa they got tired of the United Kingdom trying to boss them around so they went into war many times,and the Africans won and gained their Independence back from United Kingdom.
Apartheid began in 1948 and ended in 1991.For the first time,all South Africans could vote in 1994.
